I had the urge to make this after stumbling across some arguments about how friends treat each other, etc, etc. Someone made a comment that friends who fought a lot shouldn't be friends at all.
Well, like in most situations (if not all), there's always that instance where a statement doesn't necessarily apply (gotta love exceptions), like this one.
You see, just because a friend has an argument with you or (God forbid!) doesn't agree with you, does NOT mean they aren't your friend. Just because they disagree with you does not mean they don't love you.
I've often gotten into arguments with my real life friends, and we still love each other dearly.
And it's the same case with my cyber friends. Heck, I've had instances where we get in an argument through comments where half of the comment is arguing whereas the other half is joking around (or apologizing :'D).
Now, I'm not saying that constant fighting and arguing ISN'T unhealthy (in some cases); but many a time, a good argument or so can actually be a great way to grow in your friendship. It also means that that friend speaks for what they believe in and isn't a puppy dog that's going to pat you on the butt and compliment you every which way.
Anyway, as I said, there's always exceptions. I'm sure there are a lot more things I could type in here-- other scenerios-- where fighting or arguing can be good or bad-- but I honestly don't feel like typing a ginormous rant today :'3
So, yeah. Just because a friend argues with you doesn't (necessarily --darn exceptions) mean they don't love you.
PS: Yes, those are tacks shaping the heart in the image I used. Thought I ought to make that clear just in case you were squinting extra hard trying to figure it out >3>""
I think it's healthy to disagree with your friends or whoever you're close to. It annoys me when people always agree with their friend but they really don't. Just say how you really feel, easier said then done but still Unfortunately this one friend I had was completely out of line. She made a post pretty much bashing authors who write certain fics and that really upset me. She just wasn't the person, I thought she was after all when I saw how she treated others who disagreed with her I can't stand people like that in general though really. I treasure my friendships sure, but if they treat someone different because of what that person writes or reads? I don't accept that behavior from anyone.
Ah sorry if I rambled through this But I do think friends can disagree with one another.
Ha ha I know XD I mean I have nothing against homosexuals at all. I'm a supporter of gay rights and so are most gender bender authors...she has to face reality that not everyone will agree with her. I learn to live with the fact, not everyone likes yaoi or shounen ai for example. That's just life.
Sorry if I ranted by the way. People like that just...erk me.
The issue I've seen more often than not though.. is some seem to have this idea that friendships/relationships mean you NEVER argue and will terminate ties with a person after having argued only one or two times. It's absurd.
but we're still friends, after 4 years, and we're mostly joking, so it's all cool.
I hate it when people tell us to stop fighting. Maybe they think that we're being serious...
Though, I suppose, if a pair of friends got into fights over every little thing, that would be a different story...
Yeah, there's a line that shouldn't be crossed ^^" Fighting is one thing-- but serious fighting is bad, and stressful.
(I hope you get to see your sister again soon )
Agreeing again with your wonderful stamps~~~~
lol I love it.
PERFECT. OMG LIKE SERIOUSLY. *dies*
Well, I hope things turn out better with your friend ^^"
... Sorry for the rambling. *shot*
Sounds like an entertaining friend :'D
Pffff-- we both ramble |DD
