My OC's Anti-Akuma Weapon is creative-- is yours?

May the rant commence~!

I have seen soooo many Anti-Akuma Weapons popping up lately.. that are INCREDIBLY similar to another character's in the D.Gray-Man anime/manga.

Lenalee's Dark Boots are hers. If you're gonna make your OC have boots as their Innocence-- for God's sake, make them look DIFFERENT than Lenalee's .

And if you're an athiest / whatever religion -- not for God's sake, but for all of the DGM fandom's sake. Will that suffice?

I'm tired of it-- really. They're breeding I tell you. The copies are BREEDING! *panic*

Okay, over the overexaggeration (which isn't all that exaggerating)-- could we please stop with the copies? No more claws exactly like Allen's. No more boots exactly like Lenalee's. No more exact copies of Kanda's sword. I haven't seen a hammer like Lavi's (thank God), but ya'll get the point.

Now, boots that are a different design and function differently? Sure. A claw that looks nothing like Allen's or at least a tad different with NONE of his attacks, mind you, and functions a bit differently? Sure. Kinda like *LoudRaw's. Her OC's claws are pretty cool x3

Oh, and there are plenty of different types of swords out there. Sure, go ahead and use Kanda's kind, just please make it function and look different? I don't think Kanda would appreciate you stealing Mugen ^^"

Just so long as I don't have to put your OC's weapon next to Hoshino's character and see an exact fit and copy.

"Well, that's my OC's weapon-- deal with it!"



That's not YOUR OC's weapon. There is no creativity or claim on a weapon that functions and looks exactly the same as one of Hoshino's characters weapons.

Now, if you're totally gonna ignore that, at least put a copyright to Hoshino, 'kay?

What's a creative Anti-Akuma weapon? Simple-- anything that isn't copied from the DGM cast's weapons. Oh, and preferrably one that hasn't been used a bajillion times like wings.

And if you do wings, make them as creative as possible.

EX: Kumi of =HatoriKumiko. Yes, I've heard complaints-- oh, she's just another character with wings. Actually-- I wouldn't say she is. Notice her wings are not feathery. They are not angelly or overly perrrrty. They are almost crystalline, if not so. Plus, =HatoriKumiko even added on those crystalline dagger thingy majiggers. That's creative-- not overused. Her own idea. Not the usual bird-like feathers act like daggers shooting from the wings and whatnot.

Now, I'm not dissing on wings or anything 'kay? There are plenty of people with some creative winged Exorcists. I believe ~Unbreakable-Soul has one as well. There is no problem with your winged OC's. Just-- I'm talking to those who are creating OC's-- try not to overpopulate them, yeah? ^^"

So I shouldn't use wings-- what can I use?

The wonderful thing about this world: It's filled with all kinds of stuff. And anything can be taken over by Innocence.

A book. Cards. A pen. A knife. Headphones. A hair pin. A hair band. Your nails. A friggin' chair. It could be ANYTHING.

And as one amazing commenter kindly pointed out: A PLUNGER~!

Heck, look at ~GazeRei's Rei. I dunno what that Innocence of hers is-- but it sure looks awesome, doesn't it? In other words, you could create something that doesn't look like anything else, or is different than most common objects.

Just give yourself a moment to think about what fits your character. If it's wings, fine. If it's the multiple scythes that have been popping up-- fine. That's what you deem fits. Just try to make it a bit different from everyone elses~ (It really isn't that hard!).

Well, I think I'll end the rant here~ Hopefully ya'll read it carefully before going on an all-out POed rage

Oh, yeah, and like my last stamp concerning DGM OC's-- feel free to rant! This is your chance to let you're anger out, 'kay? I really don't mind~ ^^

And to those that are wondering, I used examples from those DGM fanartists who are most popular and that I know of. Don't be offended that I didn't use you as an example, okay? *sweatdrop*
